We are conveniently located on the corner of State and Third Streets, in historic downtown Gallipolis. We are within two blocks of the Ohio River and the beautiful Gallipolis River Front Park and within walking distance of many historic homes and buildings. The Gallipolis City School's administration building and Gallia Academy are within one block. Gallia County Historical Society and the famous Ariel Ann Carson Dater Performing Arts Centre, home of the Ohio Valley Symphony, are just around the corner. Also within one block is the Gallia County Genealogical Society, at 57 Court Street which is a chapter of the Ohio Genealogical Society. The Bossard Memorial Library is 3 blocks away. We are 10 minutes from Holzer Medical Center and 15 minutes from University of Rio Grande/Rio Grande Community College.

Residence History:
Construction started on the residence in 1936,
by Dr. W. Lewis Brown for
his
family and medical office. Dr. Brown and his family moved into the
residence in 1937. Most of the original
mahogany woodwork has been beautifully
maintained. The structure is very much as it was when the home was built.
The main entrance is located on State Street.
Gallipolis
is located in the southeast corner of the state of Ohio in Gallia County.
The City was founded by a group of Frenchmen and women, on October 17, 1790.
Thus the term, "French City" is frequently used here.
